Las sorpresas siguieron, en especial el joven Shane Lowry,  quien sac\u00f3 a Mcllroy del campeonato, al dejar en el camino a Carl Pettersson con una gran diferencia. Ahora su rival ser\u00e1 su compatriota Graeme McDowell. Otra sorpresa fue la salida de Louis Oosthuizen ante Robert Garrigus por 3 y 2.
